Chapter 163: Target, Gill!
"You can go with peace of mind. I'll watch over you, senpai!" Mashu said, holding her fists to her chest, feeling reluctant but still smiling as she watched Gudako's determined resolve to face the cat and dog.
However, upon hearing Mashu's words, Gudako stopped in her tracks and abandoned her act. She turned to Mashu with a puzzled expression, "Mashu, why aren't you trying to persuade me?"
"Persuade...? Persuade you about what?" Mashu tilted her head in confusion, unsure of what Gudako was talking about.
Gudako wanted to facepalm but restrained herself, wondering why she had such an innocent and naive underclassman. How could her intelligent and valiant underclassman be so naive?
Taking a deep breath, Gudako tried to hint to Mashu again, but this time she made it almost explicit, "Persuade me not to fight Schrödinger."
Mashu pondered for a moment. 'Could it be...senpai doesn't want to part with me, so she's using the excuse of not wanting me to persuade her to spend more time with me?'
Touched by this thought, Mashu's eyes became moist.
Yes, that's it. Her eyes were moist.
Fighting back her reluctance to let tears flow, Mashu looked straight at Gudako and said, "Senpai, you cannot fight Schrödinger."
"Great!" Gudako immediately cheered. "Since you strongly advised me against it, I won't fight Schrödinger!"
"......?" Mashu tilted her head, looking puzzled.
Not only was Mashu confused, but even Cú Chulainn, who had been spectating and didn't want to be noticed, fell silent.
"Alright, since I've decided not to fight, it's time to leave this place. It's dangerous here, after all," Gudako said, ignoring Mashu and Cú Chulainn's expressions and smoothly changing the subject.
Although she really wanted to retrieve her wig, it was clear from their recent skirmish that she had no chance of defeating the cat and dog.
Since they know they can't win, going after Gill is just a way to get themselves killed, right?
Seeing that Gudako hasn't asked about who kicked her in the stomach earlier, Cú Chulainn, relieved, tries to change the topic, "So, where are we heading now?"
Gudako looks towards the center building of the "EUO Super Deluxe Seaside Paradise" and firmly says to the two of them, "We're going to find Gill!"
On the other side, after traveling a considerable distance, Spike finally arrives at Bai Song's location – a sizable and lush park. With the red spear in his mouth, the shield in his left hand, and holding Tom with his right hand, Spike looks quite unusual.
Bai Song is eagerly waiting for Tom and Spike's return, while delightfully counting the twenty-four Noble Phantasms pulled out from Red Archer's backside. Honestly, if it weren't for the fact that these Noble Phantasms were extracted from Red Archer's behind, Bai Song might even consider licking them.
From this, one can see how joyful Bai Song is feeling at the moment. He does notice that these Noble Phantasms feel a bit like plastic, but he doesn't dwell on it. After all, these are projections from Red Archer, so maybe it's supposed to be that way.
As Bai Song is enchanting a stone sword, he suddenly catches a glimpse of a white dog approaching him from the corner of his eye. He puts the sword gently back into its snakeskin bag and looks at Spike, saying, "Oh, you're back! Where's Gudako?"
Standing up and rubbing his hands together, Bai Song is eager to interrogate Gudako about the whereabouts of his battery.
However, upon observing Spike, Bai Song doesn't see Gudako anywhere. All he sees is Spike holding a shield in his left hand.
"Where's Gudako? Where is she?" Bai Song asks.
With a confident smile, Spike looks up and casually tosses Tom to the side, replying to Bai Song's question without a word. Bai Song is relieved by Spike's confident expression.
Startled for a moment, Bai Song had thought they hadn't captured Gudako, but it turned out to be a false alarm. He had almost believed that he would never find his battery again. He speculates that Gudako might be trapped in some alternate dimension, just like Ryuunosuke was before.
Spike confidently throws the shield he was holding between himself and Bai Song, making a loud impact sound, "Bang!!!" Then, Spike spreads both hands towards the shield on the ground.
Following Spike's actions, Bai Song's gaze also moves to the direction of the shield. Confused, Bai Song asks, "So, where's Gudako?" He didn't seem to see Gudako anywhere.
Spike tilts his head, not quite understanding why Bai Song is asking about Gudako when it has already handed 'Gudako' over to him. So, Spike spreads both hands towards the shield again.
Confused once more, Bai Song looks at the shield, and what he sees makes him gasp in shock. At the bottom of the cross on the shield, there's unmistakably orange hair – Gudako's hair!
"Gulp, this is... the Gudako you brought back?" Bai Song is astonished and swallows hard, his face filled with surprise and doubt as he looks back at Spike.
Facing Bai Song's question, Spike lifts its head even higher and stands tall with hands on its hips. Looking back at the hair on the shield, Bai Song gasps again, his mind racing.
"Oh no, did Spike scalp Gudako?"
