Chapter 137: Anti-Schrödinger Alliance Formed!
"What on earth is going on?" Red Archer couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at Mashu's description of Schrödinger and the rest. He couldn't understand why his Master would fear a mere Servant like Schrödinger. Moreover, Schrödinger was just a Servant from the modern era. If his memory served him right, Schrödinger was born in 1887, making him a Servant from the relatively recent past. Generally, Servants become more powerful the further back they originate, and modern-era Servants don't possess that advantage.
Furthermore, Schrödinger was merely a scientist and would have no inherent combat abilities. Even if he did have some combat capabilities, they would undoubtedly be artificially enhanced by the Heroic Spirit Summoning System, rendering them superficial. Mashu's earlier statements also confirmed this, as she was unable to accurately describe Schrödinger's abilities.
Based on all of this, Red Archer was convinced that Schrödinger possessed only a few tricky abilities at best. It was hard for him to believe that with just a few tricks up his sleeve, Schrödinger could overturn Chaldea and defeat its multitude of Servants.
"Even if Schrödinger is strong, he's still just a Servant. If a few of us simultaneously launch a surprise attack, we should be able to kill him," Red Archer declared, expressing his disbelief.
Instead of refuting Red Archer, Cú Chulainn's interest was piqued. "So, you're brave, huh?"
"Of course, I'm super brave," Red Archer responded without hesitation.
Cú Chulainn's lips curled into a slight smile upon hearing Red Archer's answer because he knew that this guy was about to get beaten up too.
If possible, Cú Chulainn wanted Red Archer, who was so confident and comfortable speaking from a safe position, to face Schrödinger firsthand. Cú Chulainn hoped that when Red Archer was blown away, he would still have the audacity to say, "Even if Schrödinger is strong, he's still just a Servant." In Cú Chulainn's eyes, Red Archer was undoubtedly an ignorant fool, both figuratively and literally.
"Very well, since you're super brave, you'll be the first to enter the battlefield when we encounter Schrödinger and his Familiars," Cú Chulainn responded decisively, challenging Red Archer.
Facing Cú Chulainn's provocation, Red Archer promptly replied, "No problem. I'll be the first to engage when the time comes."
Although he had a lingering feeling that he might have agreed to something he shouldn't have, Red Archer couldn't show any hesitation now, not with Gudako by his side. If he wavered, his Master might look down on him. It was his first battle for Chaldea, and if he showed fear before even fighting, Gudako would surely lose trust in him.
With that in mind, Red Archer turned confidently to his Master, Gudako. However, Gudako's reaction sent shivers down his spine. Gudako looked at him with horror and even trembled as she raised a thumbs-up gesture.
Approaching Red Archer, Gudako tremblingly held his right hand with both hands and praised his self-sacrificial behavior. She even prepared to build a magnificent tomb for Red Archer after just one battle.
"I thought Zhuge Liang was unbeatable, but I never expected there would be an archer braver than him!"
Hearing Gudako's words, Mashu whispered in Gudako's ear, reminding her, "Senpai, Zhuge Liang is a Caster."
"Does that matter? It doesn't matter!" Gudako waved her hand dismissively and spoke resolutely, "What matters is that we have a hero who much braver than the others!"
"Thank you very much for your trust, Master," Red Archer said, although he couldn't quite put his finger on why Gudako's state seemed off. Nevertheless, he didn't dwell on it too much.
"Now that we have such formidable heroes, defeating Schrödinger doesn't seem impossible anymore. It's time to discuss how to defeat Schrödinger and save the world," Gudako thought to herself, not speaking the words out loud. She had the reassurance that even if they lost, they had Red Archer as a sacrificial pawn.
"My suggestion is to gather enough Servants, at least in numbers surpassing Schrödinger's Familiars," Cú Chulainn continued after a brief pause, thinking. "The Servants from the Fuyuki Holy Grail War are essentially enemies of Schrödinger. If we establish an alliance specifically targeting Schrödinger, there's a high probability that they would join us."
"That way, we would have a numerical advantage and overwhelm Schrödinger and his Familiars with sheer numbers!" Gudako nodded in agreement.
"Exactly. With my Master and me, we already have two Servants, making it four in total for the early stages of the 'Anti-Schrödinger Alliance.' That's already equal in numbers to Schrödinger and his Familiars," Cú Chulainn explained. "And there are other participants from the Holy Grail War who could join us, giving us enough numbers to overwhelm Schrödinger. At least, that's what I believe."
"Very well, I like your spirit!" Gudako applauded decisively, clapping her hands. Mashu followed suit and joined in the applause.
After the applause ended, Gudako immediately asked a question that she was curious about, "So, who is this 'my Master' you mentioned? Why do you have another Master?"
Gudako was concerned about being overshadowed by someone else; she didn't care about other minor issues like Cú Chulainn dying repeatedly. But someone trying to encroach on her territory was something she cared about a lot.
"Well... about that, Master, please let me explain... No, I mean justify myself," Cú Chulainn stammered, feeling a sense of impending crisis.
"I'm not entirely sure either. All I know is that while I was eating a hot dog in Fuyuki, I was suddenly summoned here by a Magus. It's definitely not my intention to leave Chaldea!" Cú Chulainn described, hoping to appease Gudako.
Upon hearing Cú Chulainn's explanation, Gudako was shocked. "Oh no, I've become the Gate of Heroes!"
(Note: According to my very depth research (lol)) "I've become the Gate of Heroes," is a humorous reference to the concept of being a "waifu" or "husbando" collector in the Fate series, or so I though maybe there are other opinion since chinese people sure have deep meme culture. RAW: “坏了,我迦成英灵殿了!”)
