Chapter 63: The Enchanting Display of Gudako's Fireworks
In the vast heights, at the moment the "starlight" vanished, a secondary explosion ensued.
As the fireworks emerged and disappeared due to the explosion, numerous white lines suddenly manifested in the high sky, intricately outlining a portrait of Gudako.
Even though she was propelled away by the blast, her presence still lingered.
On the ground, a person, a cat, and a mouse stood side by side, gazing upward with uplifted heads, their mouths forming perfect "O" shapes.
Maintaining this posture, they remained silent for a considerable time.
"Papapapapa~ ." Simultaneously, the person, the cat, and the mouse extended their hands while still keeping their heads raised, applauding in unison with synchronized movements.
"These fireworks are truly splendid. They would be even more captivating at night, but alas, there's no time to capture them on camera." Looking up at the Gudako-branded fireworks bursting in the sky, a sigh escaped their lips.
Meanwhile, Bai Song regretted not turning on his phone a moment ago. He pulled it out but didn't manage to take a photo. It was a rare sight that might never be seen again, and missing the opportunity to capture it was undeniably disappointing.
Although he wasn't sure if his phone would be useful later, Bai Song chose to conserve its battery by shutting it down. Just in case, he didn't want to end up with a dead battery when he might need it in the future.
Consequently, he didn't have enough time to turn on the phone and take a photo. It was akin to collecting CG scenes in a video game and missing out on unlocking a CG after going through the entire plot—quite frustrating.
Furthermore, this was the third wave of enemies they had defeated, including himself, Tom, and Jerry. It was worth commemorating.
Especially considering the bizarre manner in which the enemies retreated, it was all the more reason to document it.
"Click~ Click~." Just as Bai Song felt a sense of regret, he suddenly heard several "click" sounds beside his ear.
Turning around, he discovered that Tom and Jerry, who shared the same "fun-loving" attribute as Bai Song, had already produced a large and a small vintage camera from who-knows-where.
They relentlessly captured photographs of Gudako's portrait in the sky.
The cameras held by the cat and the mouse were identical in appearance, except for their significant size difference. Tom's camera had the letter 'T' engraved on the side, while Jerry's camera had the letter 'J.' It was as if they were custom-made couple cameras.
Shortly after taking the pictures, the cameras directly ejected colored photographs. It was astonishing!
Bai Song removed the photo from Tom's camera and beheld a colorful image. A smile adorned his face, for the picture turned out exceptionally perfect. It had to be preserved with utmost care.
Patting Tom's head, Bai Song praised, "Well done, both of you!"
As for why he took the picture from Tom instead of Jerry, the reason was simple—it was solely a matter of size. Jerry's photo might be so tiny that one would require a magnifying glass to examine it properly. In comparison, Tom's size was much more suitable and standard.
Bai Song felt the touch on his head and Tom, being obedient, willingly rubbed his head against Bai Song's hand.
"Wee woo~ Wee woo~ Wee woo~." Just as Bai Song finished admiring the photo he had received from Tom, a distant alarm suddenly sounded, startling Bai Song to the point of triggering his PTSD.
"Is it the police? Or the fire department?" Recognizing the familiar siren, Bai Song couldn't bother to determine which one it was. Regardless of who was coming, he had to flee. He quickly grabbed Jerry with one hand and pulled Tom close with the other, making a swift escape into the distance.
He hadn't forgotten that he was still in a state of being pursued, a hardcore imprisoned Master.
The recent battle was quite intense. First, Arash fired over a dozen arrows, each possessing the destructive power of artillery, all directed at him, without a single arrow missing its mark.
Fortunately, Tom and Jerry were exceptional. They managed to deflect all the arrows aimed at Bai Song. If even a single arrow had hit him, he would have been instantly obliterated, beyond any hope of salvation. He might not even be able to find a complete piece of "Bai Song" left behind.
As Bai Song himself put it, not even God could save him.
However... he was saved. The surrounding buildings, on the other hand, were heavily damaged. First, a cluster of arrows bombarded various structures, followed by a charged arrow that destroyed the crossroads in the rear.
Finally, Tom's verbal attack exploded on the main road ahead, creating a crater with a diameter of dozens of meters. The walls and houses on both sides were obliterated along with Gudako and Mashu.
Fortunately, the last explosive attack was launched by Tom, so there wouldn't be any casualties.
A few minutes later, Bai Song finally managed to escape from the scene of the battle.
"Haha~ haha~ haha~... Thankfully, no one noticed me, or else I would be pursued again." Leaning against a wall, Bai Song gasped for breath while expressing his relief.
If the police had actually discovered him, he would have ended up being forced to deal with a bunch of officers once more.
This morning had been quite the ordeal. Being chased by the police, then pursued by bikini-clad women, followed by being chased by the women and then by Chaldea. Even if several more groups came after him, Bai Song felt he wouldn't be surprised anymore.
What kind of world was this for a savior? Instead of being hailed as the one who saves the world, he was being chased by everyone.
"No, this can't go on like this." Just the thought of being continuously hunted down in the future made Bai Song shake his head. If he kept being pursued like this, it was only a matter of time before things went awry.
"I must find a shelter first."
Originally, Bai Song had planned to shake off the police and search for a new hiding place while on the run. However, within these few short minutes, he had already been attacked by two Servants. There was no guarantee that a third wave of Servants wouldn't come after him.
While he, Tom, and Jerry together were capable of handling any incoming enemies, it was best to avoid unnecessary fights if possible. He needed to seize the opportunity and find a hiding place during the lull before the next wave of attackers arrived.
Now, Bai Song didn't have the luxury of leisurely searching for vacant houses.
At that moment, Bai Song slapped his forehead, suddenly remembering that he seemed to be accompanied by someone.
"Speaking of which, Tom, do you still have Ryunosuke with you?"
