Chapter 69: Spike Dominates Tom and Jerry!
Bai Song looked up and could still see a large rat on the upper shelf of the refrigerator, happily munching on cheese with its cheeks bulging.
Just as the cat and mouse were enjoying their meal, Tom suddenly sensed a deathly gaze fixated on him, causing him to shudder uncontrollably.
Halting his extravagant chicken-eating display, Tom cautiously lifted his head and looked ahead.
"Snap!" In the instant Tom saw Bai Song, the entire cat trembled in fear. The plate he was holding, with only half a chicken left, slipped from his hands and crashed to the ground, shattering into large and small fragments.
Jerry, on the upper level of the refrigerator, wasn't faring any better. Having finished chewing the cheese and about to swallow it, he heard the sound of the plate shattering.
Then he saw Bai Song staring at him and Tom with a gaze of death. This terrified him to the point where his swallowing went awry, and the cheese got stuck in his throat. "Gulp?!"
"Tom... ..., Jerry..." Bai Song's heart felt complicated as he looked at the emptied refrigerator by these two little troublemakers.
He had thought that after coming to his own home, he would be able to save some expenses. After all, Ryuunosuke must have stocked some groceries for him, and he might survive for a few days without spending his own money, allowing him to complete the Holy Grail War without any cost.
But... this damn reality dealt him a heavy blow. He truly didn't expect that with just one summoning of a dog, his food supplies would be wiped out. It was hard to accept the sight of this devastated refrigerator.
Bai Song clenched his fist. His anger was building up!
Bai Song had a vague feeling that he was accumulating rage. Sensing this, Tom quickly stood up, preparing to seize the right moment to run and hide, avoiding trouble.
It had come to a point where he had to flee. Based on his previous experiences, whenever it reached this stage, he would inevitably suffer greatly.
Rather than facing a future of miserable cat life, it was better to hide for a while and make plans once Bai Song had calmed down.
But before Bai Song could make a move, a ferocious dog lunged out from behind him, immediately grabbing Tom by the neck with a paw. However, it seemed as if the dog wasn't gripping a cat's neck but a piece of paper. Tom, whose destiny was being strangled, had a neck that was barely one centimeter wide.
Seeing this, Jerry above felt relieved, realizing that the target wasn't him. He immediately swallowed the cheese with a strong gulp.
Then Jerry sat down on the edge of the glass beside the upper level of the refrigerator, swinging his legs and getting ready to enjoy the show. This sight of Tom getting defeated was worth a front-row seat.
And so, Jerry wasted his only chance to escape and sat on the edge of the glass partition, eagerly watching Tom get beaten up.
Before Jerry could even see how Spike would discipline Tom, a tremendously large gray hand suddenly reached out, startling Jerry. He immediately attempted to jump in place and flee from the scene, but it was of no use. Spike's left hand simply caught Jerry's body with great ease.
The force was so strong that it squeezed out the cheese Jerry had just swallowed, completely intact. Who knows what Jerry had just chewed on.
Seeing the cheese fly out, Jerry became frantic and quickly stretched his neck, opening his mouth to catch the cheese and skillfully returned it to his belly. Feeling the cheese return to his stomach, Jerry couldn't help but sigh in relief.
Spike pulled both his hands forward simultaneously, bringing Tom and Jerry right in front of him, with their faces pressed together.
Then, Spike leaned forward, stopping at a distance of less than ten centimeters from Tom and Jerry's heads.
Looking at these two familiar little creatures, Spike smiled with a face full of anger. Suddenly, he dropped the smile and threatened with a furious expression, "If I see you two in the kitchen again, you're finished!"
"Gulp~!"
"Gulp~!"
Upon hearing Spike's threat, the cat and mouse exchanged a glance, using their eye contact to convey, "When did this stupid dog arrive?!" Then, in perfect synchronization, they swallowed a gulp of saliva.
"Did you understand?!"
After hearing Spike roar again, Tom and Jerry nodded frantically, afraid of nodding too slowly and getting punched on the head by Spike.
"Very well." Seeing Tom and Jerry obediently nodding, Spike once again became gentle, closing his eyes and smiling as he placed Tom and Jerry on the ground. It was as if the outburst hadn't happened, giving the cat and mouse a sense of peace.
Then, Spike's demeanor changed once again. He stood up straight, pointing his left hand towards the kitchen exit and shouted, "Now get out of here!"
Spike's thunderous roar scared Tom and Jerry, causing them to scramble out of the kitchen as fast as they could. Even Bai Song, who was amazed by hearing a dog speak for the first time, was startled by the roar. He felt like his soul almost flew away from the shock.
"Woof~!" After Tom and Jerry rushed out of the kitchen in a survival instinct-driven frenzy, Spike returned to all fours and greeted Bai Song with a friendly wag of his tail.
"Well... well done!" Bai Song, witnessing Spike's third change in demeanor, rubbed Spike's head with a puzzled expression on his face.
As Bai Song felt the gentle touch on his head, Spike obediently rubbed Bai Song's hand with his own. It was as if he had transformed into a completely different dog from the furious one before. He was truly a master of changing his demeanor.
The speed at which Spike changed his expression was faster than flipping through a book, or rather, it could be compared to quantum speed reading. However, Bai Song only made this comment in his mind. In reality, he didn't mind at all. Who wouldn't like a loyal lapdog? No one!
Moreover, this dog could be used to balance Tom and Jerry! Yes, that's right. This dog could handle Tom and Jerry. The moment Bai Song realized this, he felt like he had drawn an SSR card in terms of functionality.
With this thought, Bai Song couldn't help but show a relieved smile. Finally... he finally had a means to deal with Tom and Jerry! This was a huge... blood-earning opportunity!
